
Amy
Schaffer is a certified legal assistant and litigation specialist
who has been a paralegal for more than 18 years. At the time
of her certification in 2001, she was one of only 59 certified
litigation specialists in the State of Florida. Amy has been
in the legal field and associated with Mr. Partridge for more
than 22 years. In her capacity as paralegal with prior defense
firms, she has assisted and managed complex cases in the areas
of medical malpractice, personal injury, construction, securities
and healthcare antitrust litigation. She joined the firm in
1998 when the Sarasota office of Grossman Roth and Partridge
was established.
From
her years of experience, she has developed a reputation of having
expertise in legal research, working with experts and assisting
with trial preparation. She is respected in the legal community
for her medical knowledge and understanding of the issues involved
with these cases. She has also served the legal community in
the past as a law librarian for Sarasota County.
A
longtime Sarasota resident, Amy graduated from the University
of South Florida, Tampa in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political
Science. She also was a Master's candidate in Speech Communication.
She has carried her knowledge of legal research and health care
law to the classroom where she has lectured on antitrust law
to Master's classes in Hospital Administration. She has also
been asked to lecture to other paralegals on medical malpractice
litigation and trial practice.
As
a paralegal with our firm, she assists with witness preparation,
pleading preparation, document production and preparation, legal
and medical research, investigation of the claim, and in the
final presentation of the case at mediation and the courtroom.
